7b: Prayer as Pain
I think it is fascinating, and maybe drash worthy, that the root pey-gimmel-ayin is being used to stand in for prayer in the discussion towards the bottom of the amud about the sin of armed robbery. Prayer is all a robber has to give, but it can not be any old prayer: it's got to be a prayer that wounds. That's great stuff.
