I hoped that Ethan would beat me to a post on this page as I am sure he could come up with something much more witty than me. Basically we have a long list of opinions on how long "s'tira" - seclusion of a man and a woman needs to be to qualify for it to be "tumma" - defilement. In other words -- how long would it take two people to get it on.
Some highlights: the time it takes to circle a palm tree, the time it takes to swallow three eggs in a row (there are a lot of batzim opinions here - coincidence?), the time it takes a woman to extend her hand into her mouth and remove a splinter, the time it takes to mix a cup of wine--innuendos anyone?
I better stop now.
